NFHS Rules

  1. K10’s SK is tipped behind the NZ by R57. The kick travels beyond the NZ where R81 muffs it back behind the NZ. K 32 picks up the ball and advances it for a TD. The Crew rules TD since there was no COP during the down and K can advance a loose ball behind their NZ.

  2. K14’s SK is high and deep. K80 jumps at R’s 2 YL and catches the SK in flight. However, he first touches the ground in R’s EZ. The BJ signals a touchback.

  3. K12’s SK is low and hits K63 in the expanded NZ @ R’s 45 YL. The kicked ball continues 30 yards downfield where R28 recovers the ball @ R’s 15 YL and is immediately downed. The Crew gives R the option of taking the ball at R’s 45 YL or at R’s 15 YL.

  4. After the FK, the ball is rolling at the K 45 YL and K34 touches the ball. The R winds the GC due to the first touching by K. The ball continues to roll for another 10 yards where R48 picks up the ball and is downed.

  5. 1:51 to go in the 2Q and the GC running. A65 is flagged for a false start penalty. After enforcement the R winds the GC.

  6. A30 (runner) is running down the field and is hit hard. A30’s helmet comes off and he/she stays on his/her feet. A30 runs 15 more yards for a TD. The Crew allows the GC to run during this time.

  7. During a penalty the GC is not stopped until 12 seconds later. The R wants the game over and chooses to not “fix the GC even though the LJ informs him of the error.

OHSAA Mechanics

  1. A, 2/10 @ A’s 8 YL (Reverse Mechanics). Prior to the snap, the HL and LJ are outside the SL 2 yards (at the back of the restricted area) to start the play as their initial IP.

  2. A, 3/5 @ B’s 40 YL. At the snap, the HL sees the runner coming to his/her SL. He/she “opens the door” to allow the play to develop in front of him/her in the hopes the LJ will have the cross field FWP spot. He/she then lines up with the LJ at his/her spot.

OHSAA Regulations

  1. The wing officials do not want to be bad guys and enforce their SL’s during the game. They fear being thought of as being “overbearing” to the coaches and the assigner.
