2025 Quiz 4

Rules

  1. 4/5 at K35YL – In a scrimmage kick formation, K’s punt is high and short and is recovered by K64 at the K30. K64 is in a pile of players but keeps moving forward until progress is finally stopped at the K43YL. The officials signal 1/10 for K.

  2. 2/6 at A2 YL – A15 is in his own end zone when he is hit, fumbles, and the ball rolls out of the EZ and OOB at the A2 yard line. The crew, invoking the new fumble forward Rule, rules a safety and awards two points to B.

  3. 3/G at B2YL – A15 is at the B5YL when he is hit and fumbles, and the ball rolls out of bounds in B’s end zone. The crew, using the new fumble forward Rule, brings the ball back to the spot of the fumble, ruling 4/G on the B5.

  4. 1/10 at A 38YL – On a pass play, B28 accidentally steps out of bounds while covering a receiver. He returns to the field and helps break up an intended forward pass intended for A83.

  5. 4/7 at R27 YL – K’s field goal attempt is blocked and bounces to the R23YL, where it is muffed by R74, forcing the ball back to the R30YL. K59 recovers the ball there. The officials give the ball to K 1/10 at the R30YL.

  6. 3/5 at A’s 25 YL – A runs a jet sweep in which, at the snap, QB A17 batted the snap forward to A89 who was coming in motion. The batted ball falls to the ground and the crew blows the play dead for an incomplete pass.

  7. 2/5 at B’s 39YL – A comes to the line to run the play. As the QB calls signals, linebacker B53 – who had been three yards off the ball – walks up to the LOS. At the snap, A73 immediately executes a low block on B53.

Mechanics

  1. During a free kick, the untouched ball rolls OOB at the R33YL. The official throws his/her flag high in the air to indicate a penalty on K.

  2. After A calls its second time out of the half, the crew notices that as play is ready to begin, the scoreboard still shows A with two time outs left. The crew halts play and requests that the board operator corrects the number of time outs remaining.

Regulations

  1. After a touchdown by A, the ball boy approaches the wing offering a kicking ball to use for the Try. The wing accepts the ball and shuttles it in for play.
